1999 Adult Singles Labor Day Retreat

See the pictures below!

Fredricksburg, Texas

After a great deal of planning, the Calvary Adult Singles "retreated" to Fredricksburg, Texas over the Labor Day weekend. We left Saturday morning and drove up 71 to Austin, then 290 to Fredricksburg, with a stop in Bastrop at the Texas Grill.

We stayed in a "Bed & Breakfast" in Fredricksburg named the Porch Swing, and it certainly lived up to it's name! We spent some time on the front porch, just relaxing and enjoying the breezes of the Hill Country, and the ambience of small town living (we were 4 blocks from Main St. so traffic was minimal).

Guest Speaker

Our speaker was Miss Wendy West of Fort Worth, Texas. Miss West, a teacher at Celebration Bible Church in Fort Worth, taught three sessions on the topic of relationships: Our Relationship to Christ; Our Relationship to One Another; and Our Relationship to the "End Times". The lectures and follow-up discussion time made the retreat a special time for everyone present.

Activities

Of course, there was sufficient free time for shopping, side trips to such places as "Enchanted Rock", lots of conversation, relaxation, fun and games (a hot game of chicken foot, lasting past midnight!) The food was great too. Homemade spaghetti Saturday night, lots of breakfast stuff, and Sunday night dinner at "The Plateau Cafe", where we all ate too much but enjoyed every bite!
